Amazon promette nuove opportunità di lavoro ed il trasferimento dei propri uffici in un edificio più spazioso a Dublino nonostante una leggera flessione dei profitti negli ultimi mesi.
Il colosso americano di internet ha registrato negli ultimi mesi un profitto di 0,51 $ per azione, risultato inferiore agli 0,69 $ previsti dagli analisti. La società ha registrato un fatturato di 25.6 miliardi di $ (18.96 miliardi di €) negli ultimi 3 mesi del 2013, leggermente inferiore ai 26.1 miliardi di $ messi in conto dagli analisti.
Ciononostante l’amministratore delegato del Centro di Sviluppo Amazon a Dublino, Jeff Caselden, ha detto che la società manterrà il suo impegno e continuerà a creare posti di lavoro in Irlanda, con lo spostamento degli uffici dublinesi in un nuovo centro a Burlington Plaza (mappa).

L’ azienda ha aperto il Centro di Dublino nel 2005 come un hub per gli ingegneri e gli sviluppatori, a supporto della progettazione e della distribuzione dei servizi online di Amazon.
Il centro ospita inoltre il team dedicato all’Amazon Web Services Support , che fornisce assistenza tecnica per i clienti che utilizzano le svariate applicazioni targate Amazon.
Il Ministro per il Lavoro , le Imprese e l’Innovazione Richard Bruton ha detto che l’annuncio è una chiara indicazione dell’impegno della società in Irlanda.
Amazon è presente anche a Cork, seconda città della repubblica d’Irlanda per popolazione, con il call-centre dedicato ai Costumer Services (assistenza clienti) situato presso il Business Park, a circa 5 km dal centro e facilmente raggiungibile il autobus.
